Teaching Statement

Research shows that one of the causes of learning difficulties in mathematics is over-reliance on rote learning and memorization. When students learn in this way, they often lack the opportunity to explore deep lying mathematical structures that would allow them to make connections within and outside of the subject. Thus, my teaching focuses on supporting students from all backgrounds to learn mathematics in meaningful ways that allows them to see the usefulness of the subject.
